Other Remarks |
Compile Disc Station (ディスクステーション) was a Japanese disk magazine, published from July 1988 until January 1992. Originally published bi-monthly, but then changed to monthly.
Due to the way the Japanese publishing industry works, the publication month, and when it actually hits stores is not the same. For instance, a January edition would already be in stores in December, hence the Christmas theme of January editions. This also means that the last edition was actually in stores in December 1991. There were also Disc Station editions for the Japanese PC-98 system, and later for Windows 95. They also published various Special editions in 1989 and Deluxe editions in 1990. Disc Stations sometimes store files inaccessible from the menu. For instance, Disc Station Special #2 stores Mr. Ghost + Randar mashup that was officially released on Takeru later. They are either explained in the manual, in the Editorial Postscript (編集後記) menu, or not mentioned at all. Those with katakana file names are part of the Underground Project (地下プロジェクト). File extensions spelled in the following ASCII character codes translate to: CAh, DEh. BDh = bas, C3h, B7h, BDh = txt. Some files are sector based and invisible. |
